I’m not one for New Year’s resolutions because I think every day is a new opportunity to start fresh. Although it’s not necessary to wait for January to change things up, I do believe that the key to happiness is doing everything with intent. Knowing why we do what we do lies at the root of our intent. As we move through the holidays and the New Year rolls in, I suggest you spend some time reflecting on what matters most to you – and there’s no better time than to start now. Take some time walking alone in nature and ask yourself, “Why do I do what I do?”
With a sense of what really matters to you create a few new specific short-term goals for the coming year. Although goals are not ‘it,’ they are quite helpful to keep us on track to fulfilling our dreams. A goal is a dream with a deadline, so be sure to create goals you can and will complete.
I also suggest you write them down and then speak them out loud with someone you love. Say what really matters to you and share your goals. If we don’t give voice to our intent, and we don’t say our visions out loud they will remain in the ethers for another year. So if you wish to have an awesome year, full of the experiences, accomplishments and the intimacy you desire, reflect on these things, and then speak about them with the people you love.
P.s. Don’t forget to include goals that bring you delight such as making love a certain number of times per week, or going to fabulous places, or even enjoying a specific amount of cash. Go ahead, dream it, say it. You’re worth it!
