The Magic of Sacred Intimacy: Why This Santa Fe Quodoushka Is Different
Every once in a while, a retreat begins calling itself into being long before the dates are chosen.
This is one of those.
For years, Åsa Kullberg and I have dreamed of bringing Quodoushka into a deeper, more spacious, more ceremonial container together. In Prague and Amsterdam, we’ve taught several truly magical Quodoushka immersions together — the kind where you look around the room and feel that something much larger than any one person has arrived.
The kind where the teachings don’t simply remain ideas.
They move into the body.
They move through the heart.
They soften places that have been guarded for years.
They awaken something ancient, tender, and wildly alive.
Now, we finally get to bring this work to Santa Fe, New Mexico — to land that feels sacred, clear, powerful, and filled with a kind of magic you can feel in your bones.
This Quodoushka 1: Spiritual Sexuality for Singles and Couples immersion will be different.
Not because the teachings have changed.
But because the container is different.
The land is different.
The pace is different.
The collaboration is different.
And the level of ceremony, healing, and presence we are creating together is unlike anything we’ve offered before.
This will be an all-inclusive ceremonial Quodoushka retreat with time for teaching, experiential practice, integration, ceremony, rest, beauty, nourishment, and being held by the land itself.
Not rushed.
Not crammed into the edges of ordinary life.
But spacious. Sacred. Alive.
A place to step away from the noise and remember who you are in your body, your desire, your truth, and your relationships.
Why Quodoushka Matters Now
We are living in extraordinary times.
The world feels uncertain, polarized, and fragmented. Many people are asking deeper questions:
Where do I stand?
What do I believe?
Who am I when everything around me is shifting?
After decades of holding this work, I know this to be true:
When the outer world feels chaotic, one of the most radical things we can do is come home to ourselves.
To know the body from the inside.
To heal the shame that keeps us small.
To stand in desire without apology.
To choose intimacy over isolation.
To become less available for self-betrayal.
This is sovereignty.
And personal sovereignty begins with embodied sovereignty.
Because you cannot be fully free in the world if you are not free in your own body.
The Magic Åsa Kullberg and I Create Together
If you don’t yet know Åsa Kullberg, she brings a rare and beautiful medicine.
Her work is rooted in living awake as sacred human beings — and that is exactly how she holds a room.
Åsa brings depth without heaviness, clarity without force, and tenderness without losing the fire.
When we teach together, something opens.
There is structure, yes. There are teachings, practices, and clear guidance. But there is also an alchemy that happens between us, the group, the land, and the unseen.
It is hard to fully describe.
But people feel it.
Again and again, students have told us that the room feels unusually safe, alive, honest, and transformative.
That is the kind of container we are creating in Santa Fe.
What Participants Have Experienced
Participants from recent Quodoushka immersions have said it best:
“I entered with an idea of what I wanted and left with exactly what I needed. I feel like my heart grew 10 years in four days.”
— Zach
“This is probably the single most powerful four days of my life. The container is so well held. Things landed in a way around this work that they never have before.”
— Dan, Therapist & Coach
“There was safety and vulnerability in ways I couldn’t have fathomed before today. I had no idea this all would have been possible in such a short time.”
— Liz Whitman, CPA
“I came seeking freedom from shame and guilt. By the first night, 40% of that had been accomplished. I was scared to open up, but it was such a safe container, so I did. I felt heard and validated.”
— Dr. Ronnie, Naturopathic Doctor
“I cleared so much in my body I don’t have words for, and I like it that way. I’m not feeling like I need to dissect myself.”
— Kaitlin Ewing, Tantra Practitioner
“I appreciate the safe space you created. It was abundantly clear everything was a choice, an opportunity. It wasn’t heavy. It was lots of fun with depth.”
— Jill Van Buren, TV Commercial Producer
And one that still makes me smile every time:
“Such a dream team… You all restored my faith in humanity and community.”
— Kaitlin Ewing, Tantra Practitioner
These words speak to what becomes possible when there is enough safety for truth to emerge.
Not by forcing transformation.
Not by pushing anyone past their truth.
But by creating a space where the body can soften, the heart can open, and the old stories can finally begin to loosen their grip.
What Makes This Santa Fe Quodoushka Different
This is not simply another workshop.
This is a ceremonial immersion.
A place where we will have time to slow down and truly enter the work.
Together, we will explore:
sexual sovereignty
emotional intimacy
conscious relationship
the wisdom of yes and no
the release of shame and old stories
the body as sacred teacher
communication around desire and boundaries
the spiritual dimension of sexuality
pleasure as life force
connection with self, beloved, community, and land
Because this retreat is all-inclusive, you do not have to manage every little detail once you arrive.
You get to be held.
Nourished.
Guided.
Invited back into relationship with your body and your truth.

If You Feel the Call
You may feel it as curiosity.
You may feel it as a little flutter in the belly.
You may feel it as resistance.
You may feel it as, “Oh no, this might be for me.”
That counts.
Sometimes the soul does not send a polished invitation.
Sometimes it sends a whisper, a nudge, or a very inconvenient yes.
If this retreat is calling you, I invite you to listen.
Åsa and I have been dreaming of this for a long time.
And I believe the people who are meant to be there will feel it.
In beauty, Amara
